About Our Tour
The Paradise Ziplines experience is an 8-line zipline course, which takes you on a very diverse journey by wire and walking track through the pristine native forest of the Oxburn stream valley. The lines vary; from up high and cliff to cliff, through the forest canopy, to skimming the stream bed down its slot canyons, just metres above the rapids. The drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy is rated one of the best in the world!
Ziplining, called a flying fox by some, is a fun and adventurous activity - not as extreme as bungy jumping or a canyon swing but more exhilarating than a stroll in the Queenstown gardens! This is a perfect activity for those wanting to see some of the regions stunning scenery, experience the native forest and see an amazing slot canyon otherwise inaccessible to the public. The thrill and scenery compete for your attention during the regions best ziplining experience.
Full safety gear and training on our low practice line will be provided by our fabulous guides before you begin so no experience is required; just an adventurous spirit. One guide attaches you onto each zipline, while the other guide at the other end of the zipline works the brakes for you and takes you off the zipline and attaches you to the safety line, leaving you to enjoy the exhilaration while soaking up the scenery.
Let the adventure begin
The tour starts with an uphill walk over uneven ground through beautiful native red beech forest. This walk includes plenty of stops to catch your breath and usually takes around 15 minutes, good mobility is required. Our first line launches off a cliff and travels high above the Oxburn Stream giving a panoramic view of the course and the surrounding mountains made famous by Lord of the Rings, which are the backdrop to an area officially named Paradise.
Our next two lines are a canopy tour through the pristine native red beech forest over the canyon, weaving up stream. Then it's time for our favourite line - The 'Orc Chasm' - zipping 200 meters through a tree tunnelled slot canyon and only metres above the alpine stream's chasm.
The next three lines weave us downstream just meters above the rapids, following the curves of the alpine stream deep within the canyon, bringing us to the final line, the stunning 'Blue Lagoon'.
After Blue Lagoon, there is only a 100m flat walk back to base where our lovely guides take off your gear and take you back to where we picked you up from.

The views from the zip lines are amazing! Some fly you on top of the river. Guides are well prepared and professional. Equipment and zip lines are well maintained and safe. Short hike to the top of the mountain very doable for everybody. Not to miss!!!

Our family had a great morning zip lining with Paradise Ziplines. Our guides Dom and Mark were extremely professional and friendly. They provided excellent safety instructions and a shot practical training which gave us comfort that the activity would be safe (in particular for our children 11 & 10). There was a 15min walk to get to the first zip line on the way they provided commentary of the local area and points of interest on the track. The zip lining course was incredible with 8 zip lines totalling over 1km in length. We zip lined over some of the most spectacular scenery. We would highly recommend Paradise Ziplines to anyone.
Awesome best zip line experience446nataliek, 27 Dec 2019
We highly recommenced this while you’re in Queenstown. We drove ourselves to the meeting point at Glenorchy which took about 45mins along a very stunning scenic coastline. Take time to stop and admire the clear blue lake with snowy cap mountain in the background. From Glenorchy, the shuttle bus took 15 mins to the starting point. Our guides Norm and Shane were very professional, friendly and educational. You can leave your bags at the start and take your camera /phones in a zip up pocket. The 8 ziplines took about 2 hrs, over some of the amazing gorges and canyons.
