Getting there
Meet us at 13 Mull Street, Glenorchy, on the corner of Jetty and Mull Streets, outside Akin Café near the lake. Look for the pickup sign — we don’t have an office at this location.
Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled departure. We can’t guarantee we can wait for late arrivals, so allow plenty of time for the drive and any stops along the way.
There is free, unrestricted street parking in Glenorchy, as well as a parking area near the lake end of Mull Street.
Our zipline course is located on private land near Glenorchy, approximately one hour’s scenic drive from Queenstown. You cannot drive directly to the course, so everyone must meet us at our Glenorchy pickup point.
You have several transport options:
- Drive yourself: Enjoy the spectacular drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy. Allow at least one hour each way.
- Catch a shuttle: Seasonal (Nov – April) transport services operate between Queenstown and Glenorchy. Availability and departure times vary, so check directly with the provider and book your return journey. Book here with Info & Track Phone: +64 (3) 442 9708
- Hire a car: A rental car gives you flexibility to enjoy Glenorchy and the surrounding area before or after your tour. Try Evolve Rentals Queenstown who offer short term rental cars
- Book a taxi or private transfer: This is another option, although it can be considerably more expensive.
If you’re using a shuttle or private transfer, please let us know by putting a note in the box for special requirements when booking so we can coordinate your arrival where possible. Transport availability is limited, particularly during the busy season, so organise it early.
If booking the Info & Track shuttle – their 8am transport is fine to catch for our 9am trip – they have other options depending on the trip you wish to take:
– 8am (Queenstown to Glenorchy) for our 9am or 10am trips
– 11.15am (Queenstown to Glenorchy) for our 1.30 trip (please note you will need to arrange another method of getting back to Queenstown as their last shuttle returns to Queenstown at 3pm!)
Their return times are 3pm for either of our morning trips (you need to also book your space for the return journey).
Of course if you want maximum flexibility you can book a taxi/uber or private transport at a much greater cost.
About 45 minutes from downtown Queenstown, driving along the shore of Lake Wakatipu — one of the most scenic drives in the world, and worth allowing extra time for. Please build in a buffer so you’re not rushing – at times of heavy traffic it can take considerably longer especially if coming from out towards Queenstown Airport. We suggest using google maps to get an estimation, adding an a buffer – we are not able to wait for you if you are running late.
Yes to both. There are public toilets across from the petrol station, behind the hall, and we have toilets at our site too. There is street parking and also a car park just past our pick up area towards the lake. Please do not park in the actual pick up location outside the cafe as this is where our van needs to pull in.
“Ex Glenorchy” simply means your tour starts and finishes in Glenorchy, rather than Queenstown.
You’ll meet us in Glenorchy, travel with our team to the private zipline site, enjoy the guided adventure, and return to the same pickup point.
Our tour includes eight ziplines through beautiful native wilderness, with approximately 3.5 hours from Glenorchy pickup to drop-off. The drive from Queenstown is additional.
The experience
Allow approximately 3.5 hours from departure to return in Glenorchy. Your overall day will be longer if you’re travelling from Queenstown as the drive time from Queenstown is not part of the 3.5 hours.
A typical 9am tour looks something like this:
- 8:50 am: Meet the team in Glenorchy.
- 9:00 am: Depart for the zipline site.
- 9:15 am: Arrive, use the facilities, get fitted with safety gear, and complete your briefing and practice session.
- Approximately 9:45–10:00 am: Begin the uphill forest walk to the first zipline.
- Around 12:30 pm: Return to Glenorchy.
These times are examples only. Group size, walking pace, confidence levels and other conditions can affect the schedule.
Think practical outdoor clothing and dress for changeable alpine conditions.
- Footwear: Enclosed shoes suitable for walking, such as running or hiking shoes. No sandals or high heels.
- Clothing: Long sleeves and long trousers are recommended for comfort under the harness, cooler forest conditions and potential sandflies (biting insects).
- Extra layers: Bring a warm layer, even if the weather looks good.
- Rain protection: Bring a rain jacket if you have one. We have spare jackets on site if needed.
- Winter clothing: Dress warmly, as you would for a day on the ski field. A beanie and thin gloves can be useful.
If rain is forecast, you may also want to bring a change of clothes for the journey home.
We provide your helmet, gloves, harness and all other required safety equipment.
We recommend bringing:
- A bottle of water.
- A small backpack for your extra layers and personal items.
- A rain jacket and any additional clothing you might need.
- Your camera or securely attached GoPro, if you’d like photos.
We have storage on site for anything you’d rather not carry on the course.
Allow around 5-6 hours away from Queenstown for the travel and tour combined. And don’t forget your sense of adventure!
Absolutely! We know you’ll want to remember the scenery.
Cameras and GoPros are welcome, provided they are securely attached to you or safely stored in a pocket. GoPros must not be mounted on top of helmets because of the proximity to the zipline equipment so a wrist mount is best for these.
Please secure all belongings carefully. Anything dropped during the tour cannot be retrieved.
Yes. We have a secure storage container at the base where you can leave extra clothing and other items you don’t need on the course.
Please leave valuables such as passports, laptops, important documents and jewellery in your accommodation’s safe. It’s best to bring only what you need for the adventure.
Public trips are capped at a maximum of 11 people to minimise wait times on the platforms. Private tours are available on request — contact us via email for rates and details. We can take more than 11 people on a trip if you are all travelling together – contact us to check availability for this.
Safety & restrictions
Participants must be at least 10 years old. Weight limits are 30–125 kg
Children and young people must meet our age, weight and harness-fit requirements, and be mature enough to follow instructions and manage the natural hazards of an outdoor adventure.
- Under 16 years: A parent or guardian must accompany the participant throughout the entire tour (by also booking a ticket).
- Ages 16–17: Parent or guardian consent is required. Please confirm the current signing requirements when booking.
The age restriction of 10 years and minimum 30kg has two components:
1 – If your child is very thin, our harness may not fit properly and they wont be able to participate. Minimum waist measurement of our harness is 58 cm (23 inches)
2 – Maturity – our course is set in a natural environment with natural hazards including exposed cliffs, uneven terrain and moving zipline equipment that can be hazardous. Parents and guardians should consider their child’s maturity as well as their age.
All participants may be weighed on site. Anyone who does not meet the age, weight or harness requirements cannot participate and will not receive a refund.
Participants will be weighed at site and will be turned away without a refund if they do not comply with any of these restrictions.
Mobility / Fitness / Injury / Pregnancy
You must have good mobility, reasonable walking fitness and reasonable ability to grip with your hands. Maximum weight is 125kg
If you have serious neck/back/joint injuries, a heart condition or have recently had surgery then please check with your doctor first.
Not suitable for pregnant woman – sorry ladies but the waist harness isn’t suitable for those who are pregnant.
Not at all! Our friendly guides provide a full safety briefing and training on a practice line before the adventure begins.
You’ll be shown how everything works and have the opportunity to become comfortable with the equipment before heading onto the course. Our guides assist you at the launch and landing platforms throughout the tour.
All required safety equipment is provided. You just need to listen to your guides, follow their instructions and enjoy the ride!
Sorry, our tour is not suitable for pregnant participants because our waist harness is not designed for use during pregnancy.
Like any outdoor adventure, ziplining involves inherent risks. Our course operates in a natural gorge with potential hazards including rockfall, falling trees, slippery surfaces, fast-moving water and exposed heights.
You may also experience changing weather, including rain, wind, cold, heat, sunshine and insects. The tour involves uneven ground, steps and an uphill walk, so reasonable mobility and fitness are essential.
Our team takes practicable steps to identify and minimise risks, but participants must follow all safety instructions and use equipment as directed. Some parts of the activity may not be directly supervised.
Before your tour, you’ll need to read and sign our Participation Assumption of Risk Form.
Yes. All participants must read and sign our Participation Assumption of Risk Form before taking part.
The form explains the risks of adventure activities, your responsibilities, health and fitness requirements, and the conditions of participation.
By participating, you acknowledge that:
- Outdoor adventure activities involve risks, including the possibility of serious injury or death.
- You must follow your guide’s instructions and use safety equipment as directed.

The form also contains provisions concerning photography and recordings, liability, New Zealand law and related legal terms.
New Zealand’s Accident Compensation (ACC) scheme provides limited assistance for injuries. International visitors are strongly encouraged to arrange suitable travel insurance covering injury, illness and trip cancellation.
Please read the complete Participation Assumption of Risk Form carefully before signing. The summary above does not replace the actual form or its legal terms.
Weather & cancellations
Usually, yes! We’re an all-weather operation and run tours in most conditions. The forest provides some shelter, and the weather around Glenorchy can be quite different from Queenstown. We operate in the rain and have rain jackets available.
If conditions become unsafe, we’ll contact affected customers and offer an alternative tour time or a full refund if we cancel and you cannot make another time.
If you choose not to come because of the weather, our cancellation policy applies.
We understand plans can change, so please let us know as soon as possible.

We recommend travel insurance that covers injury, illness and cancellation.
Safety always comes first. We reserve the right to cancel, amend or curtail a tour because of weather or other circumstances beyond our control.

You don’t need to be an athlete, but you do need reasonable walking fitness, good mobility and the ability to grip with your hands.
The tour begins with an uphill walk of approximately 500 metres through native beech forest, gaining around 100 metres in elevation. It usually takes 15–20 minutes, with opportunities to pause along the way. There’s also a short, undulating walk during the tour. The trail surfaces may have rocks, tree roots, uneven steps and at times can have muddy areas so sturdy enclosed shoes are a must.
If you have a serious neck, back or joint injury, a heart condition, or have recently undergone surgery, please consult your doctor before booking.
Sorry, our tour is not suitable for pregnant participants because our waist harness is not designed for use during pregnancy.
Your safety is our priority. Please speak to your doctor before booking if you have a significant medical condition, a serious injury or have recently had surgery. See fitness FAQ for details on the course conditions.
You must disclose relevant medical conditions, previous injuries and medications to your guide before participating. We reserve the right to withdraw anyone whose participation may endanger themselves or others.
Participants must not be under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
